What do I know about my Tante Elly but what I was told growing up.

I do not know if my dad is trying to hide something from the family or he just did not want me to poke around in the family tree. But, lol as us children often do. I went poking. I asked my dad about his Aunt and for about 10 years the only thing that he would tell me is that her name was Elly. That he only had one Photo of her and he let me scan it into the computer, making sure he watched me with every second with what I was doing, asking me when he could have the photo back and what I was going to do with the photo as if he was trying to hide something. I dont know what that was all about, but I do remember getting the feeling of someone ” watching me ” from the back of my head, you know that eerie feeling you get when you are walking down the street or at work or at the grocery store when you KNOW someones watching and you turn around and they are!! lol Well, thats the feeling I got! Back to my story… This was the photo he handed me

kind of like when someone ” Pokes a little more ” so to say. After and in the middle of my research, he told me that my aunt Elly came her husband attended there wedding at the Standesampt in Berlin. My parents were married in April of 1966 so I know the couple was still alive then, but where they lived and what they did I do not know….so I Wrote the Berlin Landesarchiv and could only find out a few KNOWN facts.

in der zentralen Datenbank zu unseren Beständen erscheint Albert Emil Hohenhaus leider nicht. Das bedeutet, dass wir keine zu seiner Person angelegten Unterlagen verwahren. In unserer alten Meldekartei ist zu ihm ebenfalls keine Karte vorhanden. Zu Erna Martha Hedwig Hohenhaus ist auch keine Meldekarte vorhanden. Zu einer Elly Hohenhaus, geb. am 26.06.1901 in Berlin, evangelisch, gibt es eine Karte. Demnach hieß ihre Mutter Berta Hohenhaus, geborene Pinnow, geb. am 03.10.1879 in Kallies. Sie hat am 27.5.1947 beim Standesamt Tempelhof unter der Nummer 291/1947 Paul Schulz aus Magdeburg, geb. am 23.5.1900 in Magdeburg, geheiratet und dann in Mariendorf, Kurfürstenstr. 1 gewohnt.
