Philadelphia

Retouched pic from 7240 Frankford Ave. My neighborhood used to be so beautiful. I’m so glad that we have pictures to remember of what it used to be.

My paternal grandfather and grandmother. They lived on North Front St… a block or two below the RB. I still remember NF had cobblestone streets and was a bustling, well kept neighborhood. They moved there when Olney was still mostly farms. Today…. Not so great.
A 1968 photo showing an underground tunnel at Roosevelt Boulevard and Adams Avenue, the abandoned shell of a planned subway station which was never completed or used for transit. The tunnel was sealed off before the 1994 implosion of the nearby Sears Eastern Regional Catalogue Headquarters and its 14-story clock tower.
