Zweibrucken AFB, Germany 72. I don’t know how many engines I changed on these, but had it down to less than 4 hours up and running. I didn’t, but one of the AGE drivers didn’t connect the grounding strap on the -60 and he ended up burning one up at the refueling pad. Was walking to work on swings when # 555 F-4 flew over…it coughed and I said that ain’t right, it crashed few minutes later. Pilots got out ok…they found out a pencil fell out of his pants and jammed a control. Fun times.
