Lest We Forget…
US Marine Corporal Matthew Henderson was Killed In Action on May 26, 2004, in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. The 25-year-old squad leader was on his 2nd deployment to Iraq and in the final weeks of his tour when he volunteered for a dangerous mission.

On that day, while leading his squad on a route clearance patrol sweeping for improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and repairing major roads an IED detonated. Matthew courageously warned his men to take cover, but he and two fellow Marines, including Kyle Codner, were killed in the blast.

Ronald Lee Ermey was a US Marine Corps Staff Sergeant and actor who became famous for his portrayal of Gunnery Sergeant Hartman in Stanley Kubrick’s 1987 film Full Metal Jacket. The role earned him a Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actor. Ermey served in Vietnam for 14 months and completed two tours in Okinawa, earning a Bronze Star and other awards. He was medically retired due to injuries sustained during his service.
