One of our traditions starting in December is having an “ advents kalender “ this is a fun and neat tradition to us german and european children and ya grown adults just alike.. we open a window each day … especially waiting for “Sankt Nicklaus Tag”.. and then down or up until Christmas Eve.. when in Europe we celebrate the birth of Jesus .. with an evening of a holiday dinner .. then cookies and treats like lebkuchen .. marzipan kartoffeln .. stollen and gluehwein..

I live my quiet time in the morning .. no one is up yet .. just the birds and it’s so cold they are not even up yet!
