Reverend Francis Brown on the Olympic 🚢

Francis Browne, a Jesuit seminarian and photographer, is best known for his historic collection of photographs aboard the Titanic, for which his uncle purchased first-class tickets with libel settlement money.

After the Titanic tragedy, Browne shared his photographs and lectured on the importance of wireless communication in rescuing survivors. Although he never sailed on its sister ship, the Olympic, Browne did board it several times when it docked in Queenstown to capture photographs of the ship in 1911 and 1913.
